Back with a Vengeance.
right.
i have a good friend who i'm fairly sure has never, shall we say, entertained a member of the female persuasion.
infact i'm almost 100% sure he's never dated.
he is 31 years old i might add and from what i can tell he feels a little awkward around women.

now i hear women bitching about men ALL the time.
"no decent guys out there"
"they're all the same"
and the classic lie.

"the most important thing in a man is a sense of humour"

now here is a man that has a good job, lives alone in his own home (well in the process of buying it anyway), is interesting, outstanding taste in movies/music.
he's naturally funny although as he is a relatively quiet man he isn't always out of his shell it just depends on the situation and the company present.
he's polite and nothing but respectful, i've never heard him swear once and he would NEVER cheat on a gf.
ok to be blunt his appearance could be described as a little staid or geeky but the guy doesn't have two heads.
he is a great bloke and someone i am proud to call a good friend.

and those same women wouldn't notice him if he was on fire.
i find this so hypocritical it's untrue and to be honest it infuriates me at times.

what do you lot think?

I believe what they mean is there are no decent desirable guys out there, I too know plenty of decent blokes with little female experience, but its usually for a reason as much as I hate to admit it.

I think some guys just lack the "edge" girls want in a bloke, and half the time this "edge" consists of characteristics that accompany ones that make blokes the mess-around type (confidence/arrogance etc)

Doesnt mean its a lie.. it might just mean that their idea of a 'good man' is different to what a man thinks is a good man... or something...

considering you have no idea who i'm talking about, your post is pretty accurate.
i have a large circle of friends and when other girls/women interact with us he isn't forward enough to initiate conversation.

i know i know, the signs are there to see but it really annoys me.

yep. basically the same sort of thing kell said. A couple of my mates talk absolute dog turd to the ladies, one of them even said to a foreign bird that P diddy was his cousin! He cant keep the birds off him though!

hey, how many times have you heard a girl say she's attracted to bad boy types.
then you hear same girl complaining she always picks guys that are unfaithful/generally treat her badly.
do these girls simply not realise these are two sides of the same coin?

Because when they say that they miss out the: "and he has to be someone that makes us want to rip our knickers off in a heartbeat, someone confident, sexy and attractive".

And unfortunately many nice men such as your friend who deserve a nice girl just don't have those qualities.

Look at me - I'm a complete bell-end but I'm full of confidence.

It works :)

lol. Ive not got much confidence but enough to start conversations at least. Im still lacking that all important, ultra confident, bell end approach!! :o

Why does he sound like a loser who no woman would want to be with?
Being 31 and never having had a woman kind of speaks for itself, and from the description in the OP he sounds like a cure for insomnia to me.

I guess that women who really do want those things in a man just don't want to put the effort into finding one. They expect the man to find them. And that's where they're going wrong.

one of my closest friends reads these forums and if he's eating or drinking when he reads your post i will, no doubt, get the bill for cleaning his monitor.

without bragging or trying to be clever about the issue, let's just say that due to a previous chapter of my life i've been under more sheets than Ghandi.

I agree. Women aren't psychic, they won't know if a guy is great unless he shows it ;).

I know what you mean. Problem is females generally like confidence aswell, and a lot of the time the confident guys are ones that will use and abuse them. Whilst the quiet guys who don't get noticed would treat them how they desire.

Since being at uni ive got a lot more confident around females. My only problem is that i dont like dancing with females at all. I find myself being a lot more self conscious, and not that I don't mind, but it feels sleazy when girls grind up against you. Plus if its a place with good music i just wanna be jammin it up with mates enjoying the music and atmosphere rather than worrying about a girl.

/disclaimer, not saying all confident guys are man slags and all quiet guys treat woman better, its just a general observation.

I know a girl like that. I genuinely think she goes out with ****'s on purpose purely to support her theory that all guys are <insert explicative here>

you remind me of a guy i used to work with.
we were out in a club one night and i turned to him and asked "c'mon then dave, what's tonight's chatup line?"
he replied. "alright girls?"
so i say, "does that actually work?"
to which he replies "about one in twelve times, but when you ask as many girls as i do...that's a lot of twelve times"
classic IMHO.
