I was intending to watch the USA-Thailand game but it's not showing anywhere on TV here, so I'm watching Germany crucify Estonia in the qualifiers instead, and -as much as I'd like support women's football - it's just in a completely different league of skill. Which, I guess, is a vicious circle for women's football. It doesn't get the respect because the standard isn't the money isn't there which makes it hard to raise standards... etc.
Mind you, the lack of play acting is nice.
Gotta say, I'm thoroughly enjoying the competition (nice to see players trying to win the ball rather than the foul). loads of games being shown on the TV over here.
Is there much being shown in the UK? This thread seems a little quiet or is there not that much interest?
The BBC said they qualified because they were in the top 3, but as you say, they were 4th, so I don't understand it either.
Edit: found out it's because they're a top 3 European team.
