In the news at the moment.

Not been in there myself and can't remember ever driving past it.

Anyone been in there?

What's the area like where it used to be?

According to news sources, grade status was applied for shortly before it caught fire.

This kind of behaviour from developers makes my blood boil. I remember when they knocked down the Elephant and Castle on the Stafford Road too. I really would like to see much more punitive measures for developers who flout planning and destroy buildings like these. I know they haven't been found guilty but I find it hard to believe after 150 years an empty pub suddenly bursts into flames shortly after being bought by the developer who sadly had blokced the access to the pub so the fire brigade couldn't attend and then 2 days after it's been burnt the bulldozers demolish it. I hope they find everyone involved guilty of something and then make them pay to rebuild the place.

I went there many years ago. It's quite the novelty to see stuff roll uphill on the bar.

I found it quite disorientating though. It was like you'd already had a few pints before you'd even taken a sip lol

Standard issue behaviour. With luck they will be forced to rebuild it brick by brick.

Being from the Black Country area myself, all of the pubs which been burnt down have never been rebuilt. Or what is left over is turned into something else such as a shop.

Signs of the pub industry in the UK is dying and has been for years.
