hey all, I been on holiday for a week and i get back today. Try and boot my pc. It turns on no screen or anything just the fans spin about 3 seconds later it will cut out and then turn back on and go in a loop. I seem to think its the PSU gone. Well i took the mobo out and reseated it. and the cpu. I got it to work once, It got stuck at windows loading screen. That was with the same PSU.... I just can't work it out. I have no other PSU to try with it. I have tryed just running with one stick of ram.. Its strange because i was on the pc the morning i left and its not been on since. Its behind a serge protector thingy... The pc is only 3 weeks old........

Anyway i hope you lot can help me out....

Specs are

DS4
2gb consair ram
200gb wd hd
dvd burner
C2D 6300
zalman 9500
antec 900
x1600pro or fx5200 i can try both..
Tagon 500w PSU

all i can think of that it can be a wire thats gotten bent and ripped inside and sometimes contacts when it booted half way once...

Thanks all again Phil

I get this all the time mate when my PC has been off for any lenght of time. Its the one thing about the mobo that aggrivates me

Just keep clearing the CMOS, it will come on eventually.

Im already on the latest BIOS :(
Try the version before or downloading from another source, I remember I updated my Abit BIOS to the latest and it was corrupt - had all sorts of problems with bootups and BIOS locking up. Anyway I decided to download from abit-usa.com rather than abit.tw and I updated and with the same version the issues were solved. Just wondering if perhaps you guys might have something similar - Just a thought :)

The fact is it doest even post.. No screen or anything it just does this loop.. turns on fans spin.. Turns off turns back on fans spin turns off and so on..

Just plugged it in.. holy F..k Its working kinda.. I got into windows vista fine.. I am going to reboot it a number of times and see what happens.. IF it works it can't mean the mobo has gone can it?

Phil

well it all seems good.. what i did was take the battery out and then reset it and then put the battery in and reset it. seated the cpu and bits. Turned on it works!!!

Thanks guys now to put it back in the case...

OR not.. I rebooted it maby 8 times worked perfect. I then turn it off and go downstairs for a while.. Come back thought i would try it again.. It does the same thing.. Do you think it could be faulty??

yeah all the fans spin. It all worked fine.. BTW i have it out of the case. And i just took the battery out again and reset the bios.. It now doest reboot but jams at windows loading.. I am thinking its faulty?

Right after i just reset it that time taken the battery out and the pins.. I retryed to boot. Goes right into windows.. can it be faulty or is there somthing wrong somewhere i will try a few cold boots now..

Trying to think what it could be, is that the spec in your sig? How old is the spec? Seems to me something must be faulty, try with 1 stick of RAM in each of the slots and then the other.
