Wont boot.

Hi,

After turning on the computer, the initial POST test begins, and all the drives show up, but then it just hangs for about 30 seconds, and then system sound bleeps, and then the screen goes blank.

The power light on the front of the case then flashes.

Any ideas? (I can get into BIOS)

You checked all the cables are plugged in securely and where they should be?

All connected fine. It's not a newly built computer, but checked it all anyway.

Could you give us an idea of what your rig is made up of i.e. power supply etc? As I know some people may have had similar problems with their components if you do indeed have what they have, there's a good chance they'd be able to help you

Motherboard: ASUS A7V8X
PSU: "Advance" 300W
CPU: AMD Athlon 2900+
Fan: Zalman (No Idea)
GFX: Radeon All In Wonder 7500

I've never really heard anythin like this happening before. Have you checked your RAM and all your expansion cards are seated properly? If you're sure everything's where it should be you could try resetting the CMOS, but I don't think that'd do much good anyway.

Only thing I can think of it being is the PSU, but if it was faulty I wouldn't have thought it'd be able to post anyway, so I mean don't go buying a new one because I'm really not sure lol.

Anyone else got any ideas?
