'by unplugging everything' Do you mean you've reseated the RAM, CPU ect..

Is it 1 stick of ram or 2x512's? If so try one stick of ram. If that fail's try resetting the BIOS.

Hope this helps.

Exactly what I would have suggested. Almost definitely a memory issue.

I would start from scratch again...

Start with CPU, memory, graphics card. Rig up all the power. Clear CMOS and see what happens!

I would also try each module of ram in all 4 slots, just to be sure.

quick check have you scanned over all your cables made sure they are in the right places, secure and no breakage. this is probably not it saying you have tried 2 PSUs but just to be sure before you start taking it apart.

btw have you tried both your PSUs in another computer to ensure that they are not to blame.

Mobo shorting on the case via a mounting screw?

Case switch cable plugged in and working ok?

test all the power related things first cause the last thing you want to do is take your computer apart and find you didn't have to...just trying to save you time lol

ok cheers for the replys will start all over have taken pc apart there was on leg that didnt look like it is in correct place thought it might be shorting everything out moved to correct place still no luck got it at mo with just power to m/b and a dvd drive plugged in cant even get power to dvd drive to open it but the power supply has been tested with a testing device in a shop which leaves me to believe it is either the m/b or the case switch am temted to go out and buy a new tower but id be fed up spending more money if that didnt work too

You done the cmos clearing with the jumper?

Also try holding down delete key [under insert] when turning on the comp. Works for me when my comp doesnt seem to boot. As bios was probably misconfigured and holding delete resets it all.

Apart from them, you could try if possible. Check the leads from case to mb check there not the wrong way around etc.

cheers for the replys all them looks like its a new case if thar dosent work its gotta be the m/b i think thanks for all your replies

have you got any spare ddr2 ram you can try ???
some peopel have had probs were the ram they purchaes requires a higher voltage than what is supplied by default and as result pc dont turn on. the work round is to put in cheap standard memory start up acces bios up mem voltgage save and exit shut down and put better memory in.

this may or may not be the problem but if you did have some basic ddr2 memory you could try then its worth a go.
