Wont wake from sleep!

Hi guys, here is my problem:
If i set my computer to turn off the monitor after 10 mins of inactivity. It will turn off but as soon as you go to wake it all i get is a black screen with nothing on it. Monitor: BENQ XL2420T
GPU: hd 7850

I replaced my ram and ran memtest as i thought it might be the cause but nope! (It had bad sectors anyway so was due replacement) Passes memtest fine!
I've even recorded a video of the problem:

If i enable sleep mode it will actually work though!? Im baffled.

Have you tried removing the GPU and seeing if you can resume when using the onboard graphics?

I have not, will give it a try in 5 mins. If this works.... what is the problem?

Right guys, just tried it using only onboard graphics and it worked fine. Am i assuming my GPU is faulty?

gpu is fine,its probably a bios bug or software bug with windows

makesure your monitors software is fully upto date,and gpu drivers,the beta gpu 13.3 are the best to use regarding performance

if you still cant solve it just set to never turn off monitor and turn it off with the monitor button

Thanks Wazza. I cant find any drivers for my monitor anywhere only online manuals. I did try using the 13.3 drivers but it didnt help :/ Went back to 13.1 in the end. Might just have a weird PC setup or as you said a software bug.

If it's any help my PC is a shuttle SZ77R5 barebones that i built myself.

Will just turn it off manually in future i guess :/
