Ok I have been moaning like a bitch for ages about my high idle temps of my stock Q6600 B3 Now with the new release of Coretemp I find that now the bios, speedfan and coretemp are all reading 33/32/32/33c Has CT been wrong all the time??

Are you saying upgrading CoreTemp has affected the BIOS reported temps? I doubt that's possible. My Q6600 idles from 40C on core 3 up to 49C on core 0. Never worried me, it peaks at about 61C on full tilt.

When people say idle temps, are they referring to them with or without speedstep? With speedstep enabled my 3.42 Q6600 idles at 2.28 with around 30-35C, though disabled it idles at 3.42 around 40-45.. a lot of a difference.

All the software I have tried, which include RT CT and SF all read the same as the bios.

Here is a shot with all 4 cores at 100% after 10 mins. CT running at the bottom.
