Poll: Woo-hoo, the clocks go back to GMT this weekend!

I'm so happy that we'll be back to GMT (UTC, Z, etc) this coming weekend.

We invented time, we invented Greenwich, we invented longitude and we invented clocks*

We'll be back to proper time again... BST, you can do one!

Everyone gets an extra hour sleep, except for insomniacs who can have an extra hour staring at the ceiling.

*some of this may not be entirely factual

A huge amount of us are now getting up 5 minutes before starting work from home so light mornings make absolutely no difference, we just lose an hour of daylight in the evening.

I've been working from home since mid 2017 and it hasn't bothered me in the slightest.

GMT + 0.5 and leave it alone forever tbh.

So we'd be on the half hour and the rest of the world would be on the hour?

There are some time zones that are +/- 30 minutes but I can't think of anything much stupider. Oh wait, BST all year round would be stupider

I prefer GMT because when it comes to calculating time difference most sites use GMT.

This. And it doesn't help that all through the summer, people quote GMT as local time 'cos they're idiots and assume that because we're in the UK, we're always on GMT.

I usually sleep badly but it's better at this time of the year as I'm not woken at 3 or 4am by the light and the birds singing.

One of my relatively nearby neighbours keeps chickens and has a cockerel. That damn thing doesn't care what time of the day or night it is, I was woken up a couple of nights ago at just after 03:00 by it crowing. I'd only been asleep for a short while as I suffer dreadfully with insomnia

The only thing I know is this debate happens every year at the same time for as long as I can remember and nothing ever changes (nor do I expect it to)

I enjoy it every year, it wouldn't be the same without it.
