Well i've gone and done it. Just gone and ordered a stonking new system including intel sandybridge 2600k, 8gb cas6 ram, msi board, 2x240gb ocz ssd drives, nvidia gtx580, 27" 2560x1440 dell monitor all for FSX.

Just shy of £3200 in total. (would have actually cost me just shy of £3400 if bought from ocuk so got it from the other place/cant say as out human rights to freedom of speech arent allowed here :D)

Shame ocuk have gone so expensive as they just missed out on a big order.

Oh, FSX should fly with that setup. I'd be very interested to see how it performs with an overclocked i7 2600K. Would be grateful if you were to follow this thread up and update either here or the "FSX screenshot thread" about how you find SB and FSX. What did you upgrade from and how was your FSX performance?

Which RAM did you go for?

What cooler?

Presumably one SSD dedicated purely for FSX & addons?

I like what you did there :P

Just to update , the dell monitor that was delivered was faulty. So i have had it replaced with the 30" dell. Put it all together and its not that fast actually...

Only kidding , its absolutely amazingly fast. FSX is running with everything on max and im getting minimum 60fps and the textures load so fast i can sit at 30k feet in the fighter jet , shoot down to the ground at 1200mph and not a single stutter, pause in texture loading.

This is the fastest system i have ever seen and ive seen a few!
