Hello.
I need to buy a cooker for my new home.
IT needs to be a stand alone type and I would like a stainless steel one.
I have seen a Belling model for ~£280 before delivery and then a zannuzi for about £370.

Any brands that you reccomend please? It needs to be a 'standard size', which I beleive is 60cm wide.

Thanks

Jon

Oh sorry. Although I do have a gas point there (capped off at the moment) I'd like an electric one please.

I thought of a ceramic top hob, so its easy to clean/looks nicer?

Looks like a nice one, thats about £150 out of my realistic budget really, I dont use them a great deal and spending half a grand on one, mmm, a little too much really.

Thanks though.

If you have a Gas point I would have normally recommended a dual fuel cooker - Gas hobs rock.

Also do you need/want a double oven?

If you are looking at up to £400 then you should be getting a twin cavity with a Ceramic hob anyway. Really it's as much about looks as anything else. Cannon/Hotpoint/Zanussi/Electrolux are all pretty good brands, but tbh with the quality standards they are all much of a muchness.

Thanks,
Dont need a double oven, just thought that within my 'budget' its worth having.Hotpoint/Zanussi/Electrolux are all under the same mother company, I think?
I do like Gas hobs but there is an unsightly pipe running around the kitchen I would like to remove if possible, to fuel the gas on the old hob.
Thanks,
J

On an associated note - apologies to Jon for hijacking his thread...

Why is it near impossible to find a 600mm gas cooker that doesn't have a horrible lift-up glass lid?!

Soooo many range-type cookers out there with exactly the type of hob I'm after but I've only seen 1 600mm, a Canon Professional, and I'm not sure I like the way it looks.
