Has anyone built/bought one? Are the results as good as you hoped?

My dream is to be able to make proper wood fired pizza but sadly my garden is tiny so I only have room for the small dome 1m x 1m type thing. Do the small ones work just as well?

We know two people both with pizza ovens. One has a brick built one with a very large stone bed.

The other has a morso cast iron one:

The morso one looks much better in my opinion and is portable to an extent (pretty heavy but easy to wheel about on a stand with castors).

In terms of cooking pizzas, the brick built one retains its heat for far longer but it also takes far longer to heat up - all day pretty much. The morso however only retains the heat in the stone long enough for 3-4 pizzas however it's very easy to rake forward all the wood again and leave it for another 15minutes to get back up to temperature.

The pizzas are both really nice out of both. Making the dough looks a bit of a faff from what I've seen, they both use a breadmaker but it takes a good few hours to get a decent batch. If you're having a party, it can take a day or so to make enough dough for everyone.

I have a g3 ferrari pizza machine. £100 does the best pizzas you can imagine after you learn how to use it.

the middle does tend to be slightly undercooked. lots of people have modded their pizza machines to get around this. second heating element, deflector/reflectors, etc.

it has 2 heating elements and a pizza stone. the plus version has 2 pizza stones and is probably no need for mods. i would get the plus version for the extra £30-£40.

also pizza is made in like 3-5 minutes. pre-heating takes around 5-10 mins. so from start to finish 8-15 mins. plus you don't need to faff about.

We're getting a large tree stump taken out in a garden and will then extend the patio. I thought about building a BBQ, then Mrs Chri5 suggested building a pizza oven.

We have the slightly crazy idea of doing a pop-up pizza nights for the village.
