I'm in the middle of building a 40' long featherboard fence, and I don't fancy brushing it if I can spray it with stain and achieve a good result in a faster time.

Has anyone here used a sprayer that they can recommend, one that wasn't totally **** and gave good results, as most out there don't seem to be up to much and I don't want to buy something binworthy.

Cheers!

be careful with them, i was thinking of one and got warned that when you spray the fence theres a fair chance it will get between the pieces making up the fence and spray through to the other side as well.

That's fine by me TBH. I need to do both sides, and for 90% of its length it is between flower beds/trampled earth so a bit of overspray won't matter.

I have just bought a Wagner Project 115, not for a fence, I have just put up a log cabin - some 120m2 inside and out plus the walls and floors. Need to do 2 coats of wood preservative - 300m2 (inside and out), 1 coat of undercoat (120m2) and 2 coats of waterproofer (240m2). eeek.

The wagner has gone through 15 litres of wood preservative, 10 litres of undercoat (thick stuff) and I am about the chuck another 16 litres of waterproofer through it - solid as a rock.

It can do emulsion for internal walls too. Not cheap, but if you hate painting its worth an investment - buy cheap buy twice.

Blimey, it's a bit rich for me! I'm only responsible for maintaining that one length of fence (which is a bonus as I have an 80-90' garden and is down to the fact that I adjoin 5 other gardens), so I think a £200+ sprayer is a bit much, and buy cheap buy twice saves me £120 if those £40 sprayers are up to much (assuming I do ever have to buy twice!).
