wooden pc case

Would look awefull!

Pine isnt very nice to look at.

If your going timber then id suggest something like oak and give it a nice finish with some wood oak to bring up the grain. This is coming from someone who works in the timber industry :P

I wouldnt go dwn the route of a wooden box, as will look crap :P

wont the heat eventually warp the wood ?

Depends on the wood, how much heat and how well ventilated the box is.

Personally I have been eyeballing antique oak chests on that evil auction site for a while now.. Could easily fit a pc into some of them, they dont sell for silly money (compared to some cases) and wood (haha) look very cool done right.

tbh that guys case doesnt look too bad behind closed doors! But when he opens up that front door the switches and the DVD drive look gash.

I guess there is no harm in giving it a go!!

If you have skill then a wooden case could look excellent, traditional to match living room furniture or modern. I wouldn't use pine though, i think Ash would be a better wood to use, or Oak if you want the traditional look. I was thinking of making a wooden case a while ago out of Ash and then staining it black but never got round to it. I also dont think heat will be an issue if you allow for 120mm fans.
