woodgate switch made permanent

Hows he been playing so far this season? I can't say I've taken much notice of Middlesbrough so don't know if his recall to the England squad is justified or not. Always thought he was a good defender when he played for Leeds but not sure if his injuries have caught up with him or not.

He's been very good this season for Boro, a revelation really in defence. Only missed two games with small knocks so injurys haven't bothered him. Definately worthy of a recall and one of the best Prem defenders on his day.

A great signing for boro, other clubs have missed out.
 
according to the 3 legends tonight all thats happened is that Boro have agreed terms with Real Madrid, woody has not agreed terms with Boro.
 
We had an option to buy in his loan agreement. It seems Sky and BBC ran with the story when for some reason Madrid had said they'd agreed to sell him to us. I'm assuming this is coming from us deciding to take the option to buy and we've agreed a fee with Madrid.

Just hope we can agree terms with Woodgate although he has always said he would wait until the end of the season before making a decesion. Although if he continues playing as well as he is and keeps out of injuries it would surprise me if other clubs don't come snuffing.

Madrid are stupid to let him go.

His injuries are the only genuine reason for him to not be in their pathetic defense. Assuming he's over the worst at least, why sell him? He's still better than any of Madrids current defenders.
 
Hi still better than most of our english defenders tbh.

And as mephisto has said Jonny boy hasnt made his mind up, tbh, and no disrespect to boro, he is better suited at a top club imo.

Yeah, that's what I've read as well. I've got a feeling he won't be at Boro next season.
 
He was superb when I saw him play against Spurs earlier in the season. I haven't seen an opposing defender play so well at White Hart Lane for quite some time. It's a shame that his career has be blighted by injury. He could have been a England first time regular.

Good move for Boro.
 
He has been excellent for us at the back, we are unbeaten this year and thats all mainly due to woody and viduka returning!

Hopefully in the summer he will decide to stay, but I can see another club coming in for him :(
 
he's done well this year, and would be a great backup to rio and terry, i can't see him pushing either of them out the way bar injury, i like him thought, kind of a mix of them both
 
I reckon when fit hes the best english defender!!! If he had of been fit all these years who knows what level he would have reached.
