Rumours about this for a few weeks now..

but ive read something about pay as you play? whats that all about, real madrid will get the money if he plays a set amount of games? or woodgate will only get paid if he plays :p?

I'd imagine it will be Woodgate only get's paid if/when he plays. Not a bad idea really as it would be a financial risk taking him on:)

I doubt Madrid will want him to go, if they get him fit hes by far there best defender!

He is never fit, so regardless how good he is, he is a waste of space.
He could be good enough on the ball to make grown men weep, but if he isnt on the pitch he no good to anyone.

Very true its a shame really!

Pay as you play contracts would be great.
I cant see any but the skintest (is that even a word?) and most desperate players signing one.

The best Woodgate has managed is 26 games in a season iirc.
He is such a good player when fit , better than Terry or Rio for me.Certainly better that any defender we have had at Nufc.
Not that thats much of an accolade mind.
