I made a thread a while ago about my Cateye cycle computer not working properly and decided to send it back. Well i did and then a few days later i got a replacement head unit and sensor courtesy of Paul's cycles. Only one problem, Ive just realized that i purchased the computer from Cyclexpress :o  .

I must have written the wrong address on some how. I emailed cyclexpress telling them that the computer was broken and they said just send it to us with all the packaging and they said i wont need to include my receipt in the package so all i put in was my name and address. They will have just received it and been like WTF and just replaced it anyway. I purchased my bike from them so they will of had me on computer but they will of known i hadn't purchased a cycle computer. In fact i don't even think they sell them.

I might email them and tell them my mistake and offer to pay the return delivery or something. I would have thought that they would have rung me to ask WTF is going on. I would never of even realized but i just saw the proof of postage on my desk and then it clicked what id done.

Purchased bike from Pauls cycles
Purchased cycle computer from cyclexpress
Emailed cyclexpress, they said send back
Sent back to Pauls Cycles (like you do :o )
Received brand spanking new computer from Pauls cycles

Only just realized today what id done so I'm going to ring them and see what they want me to do.

Don't think there's much you can do, Paul's cycle would've returned the faulty one to the manufacturer, Cycleexpress hasn't really lost out on anything, they made a sale afterall. You have created a havoc on Paul's Cycle's stock history thou, now they have a mysterious extra computer returned that wasn't sold in the first place. :p

:D lol. I know what i must have done now. Both online stores appear on my favorites as XTC mountain bike, so i must have just clicked the wrong one and copy and pasted the address.

I presume it was a warrenty job, hence you haven't really cost them any money.

They maybe even realised it wasnt from them, if its a warrenty job they just send it onto the maker who replace it usually.

In my experience anyway.

Edit: infact i bought my demo 8 frame over the internet from some shop, and took it back to dales in glasgow when it cracked, and they done the warrenty job knowing i hadnt bought it from them. I think its the policy of the manufacture that you can return their item to any dealer regardless of where you bought it (presuming they deal with the manufacturer/importer).

They will have sent it back to the manufacturer on seeing that it wasnt working. They wont have lost out as a result, you have just carried out the same transaction through a different shop........somehow! :D
