Fallout MMO Proposal Detailed, Budgeted at $75 Million - Interplay has filed a proposal to the SEC detailing specific financial plans for a MMO set in the Fallout world. The project is estimated at a total of $75 million, with $5 million for preproduction, $40 million for production, and $30 million for the launch. Development is stated to begin in January 2007, with the game launching in July 2010.

How the hell are they gonna afford to make this, wasn't that long ago they got booted out of their offices cause they couldn't afford the rent or pay their staff. They getting a loan or something to make the game and pay what they owe with the profits?

looks like its going to be an MMO, that sux but i know ill @ least try it coz its fallout

Fallout 3 is in the works, Bethesda are making it.

I think I will also have to try this, despite not thinking much of MMORPGs.

I used to love Descent (1, 2 and 3), it was the first pc game I ever played and that was Interplay iirc so they know what they're doing.

doesnt look real, if it is they completely suck at making business plans, the financial section is a complete joke, and overall quality is lacking to see the least.

What the??? I thought Interplay went bankrupt and its intellectual properties were sold off! Yet it seems they're still under administration, as they've been filing regular reports to the FCC. In my opinion there's nothing to this, they're just trying to raise interest and speculation and give their stock price a little boost (trading at $0.25 on NASDAQ). It would be a great world to set an MMO in though, hopefully someone will buy the Fallout IP off them and make it.
BTW, there's nothing on Bethesda's website about Fallout 3: http://www.bethsoft.com/games/games_indevelopment.html
Did you hear this from a reputable source?
