I have this annoying bug with Microsoft Word 2007 and tables when saving in the old Word format. If you save a document as Word 97-2003 format, then create a table, all the cells are roughly twice as high and will not let you make them smaller.

I’m trying to save a document that includes a lot of tables so that I can open it on another computer that has a printer (mine doesn’t), but that computer has word 2003 only so I have to save it in that format.

Is there any way round this bug other than creating all the tables before saving? This isn’t really an option as I’m going to be working on this regularly.

I’ve worked it out, if you set the cell heights manually to 0.50cm in table properties with “exactly” instead of “at least” selected from the drop down menu it will set the correct size.

At least should work though as its the default option and it works fine before saving.
