I hope this is the correct forum.

We've been working on a new application form at work and for some reason there seems to be an extra column that has been tacked onto the end of every row that we cannot get rid of.

I was wondering if anyone would be able to have a look at it or if anyone has any ideas?

If you need to see the document just ask.

The word document with issues can be found here.

Edit: Just to make you aware it's not the fact that the cells are there that bothers us. It's more the fact when it prints it tries to include those cells within the margins so things don't line up correctly.

If you Ctrl-A to select the whole lot you'll see what I mean. They're on the far right and slightly higher than the row they're in.

I cannot seem to merge them or delete the column they're in.

Oh, those are not additional cells that are being selected when you do a CTRL+A. They are just the End of Row markers (they hold the formatting for the row) and they will always be selected when you CTRL+A. There are similar things in each cell called End of Cell markers, these hold that individual cells formatting. You can toggle the viewing of them on/off by... SHIFT+CTRL+*

However, they shouldn't affect the layout of the table when you print it. When I printed your document it came out all right with no alignment problems!

Perhaps it is something to do with the printer? Perhaps word or the printer is substituting fonts on you, or maybe some kind of A4/Letter resizing.

This probably wasn't much much help, but it might have helped just a little bit, maybe.

Well it wasn't exactly centered because the table itself is not centered on the page :)

But when I center the table, then yes, it prints perfectly centered for me.

I've now centered the tables and fit most of them to the margins but for some reason two of them break when I do so (income and second part of expenditure) despite the first part of expenditure working fine.

Can you confirm if you have the same problem, DDL?

They look ok to me. I've taken a couple of (very crappy) photos to give you an indication of how they printed out for me...
