i have a copy of a word file sent by email, a dismissal letter actually, the person who says she wrote the dismissal document states it was written by her and the decision to dismiss was hers.
i feel that the decision and the letter were done by this persons superior, a fact denied by the above person.

however the word properties of the document state that it was written by this persons superior as he shows up as the author,
this stuff will be backed up on the companies server, any suggestions on how i should take this forward prove it,
the argument is that the superior has been trying to get rid of an employee , the subject of the letter, but has masked it by using a subordinate to do the sacking

The problem is I could create a letterhead/template and stick it on a fileshare, and from that point onward I could appear as the author of any documents people create from it. At the end of the day it's just metadata and you can only really get a flavour of what process the file has gone though - you'd have a very difficult time proving it objectively either way.
