Hi there,

I want to create a title and contents pages for my report but do not wish to have the header or footer on either of them and wish for them not to be included in the page numbers.

Is this possible?

I am using Microsoft Office 2007.

Thanks.

On the ribbon, goto page number and format page numbers. Then exclude the first 2 pages from numbering.

You can exclude the fist page with headers and footers by clicking a check box on the ribbon when you edit a header or footer. I'm not sure how to do subsequent pages, but I'm pretty sure it's possible.

Hope that helps in some way.

All good up to the last bit. I don't see "exclude the first 2 pages from numbering" or any section on excluding.

No, No

I'd use sections for that - do your title pages and then finish the second page with a section break (next page)

Go into headers and footers and you'll see the second section has "Same a previous" above it - click the link to previous button (do this on both header and footer sections) and then type in what you want.

As for page numbers go to format page numbers (make sure you're in second section footer) and select start from x (whatever number you want) and NOT the "continue from previous section" option

Hope this makes sense - typed in a rush whilst doing summat else

Job done
