Wordpress and Password Galleries

Im currently using Nextgen gallery on my Wordpress site and I've had a request for a password protected gallery, Im looking for a dummies guide and basically want for example; click onto my events page click the event album and then request a password before allowing you to continue to the gallery.

Any ideas? thanks

Might not be the best way but you could just password protect a page and paste the gallery short code onto it.

Thanks Karl, worked it out and for referance here's the route, create a page for said gallery and hide it (plugin or code), set password, as above paste gallery shortcode to this page. Now using a link/button/thumbnail hyperlink to the page in question.

Although if someone shares the gallery URL, then they won't need the password (from the sounds of it).

Just checked that, gallery page is password protected and the URL refers to this page so should always bring up the password screen, seems to work for me.
