Has anyone used any web development agencies for Wordpress development? How was you experience? What was the cost / hour? I am looking for someone overseas to keep cost down.

Better solution, use UK students. I do freelance outside of work (on a years work placement), but because I'm 20 I can only charge £7.50 an hour, or no-one would be interested.

Before I joined the company, they used a strong of overseas agencies and the quality of work was appalling, even if you disregard the language barrier. You get what you pay for.

The majority of my freelance work is WordPress development.

I've worked with agencies who have used overseas developers before and whilst the work gets done at a relatively low cost, they need to be babysat. What I mean by this is they would spend more time emailing/skyping them a word for word list of tasks (+ answering queries) than it would take to do the task in house.

I have regular clients who send me a PSD and I just get on with the theme. Making it easy for your client is a great way to get repeat businesses and build up good working relationships.

In short, as Muel said - you get what you pay for. Not just in terms of quality of work, but standard of service/communication, etc.

OP - I would source a freelancer (opposed to an agency who will be more expensive) who fits your budget, have a look at a few WP sites they've done before and see if you like them.
