wordpress email when new blog entry

Whats the easiest way to do this. Im trying not to use mailchimp or anything like that.
A school has a website made with wordpress. They have a blog section and now they want it so parents can 'subscribe' to the blog so that the parents get an email when the school add a new blog post.

The good thing about Wordpress is the huge library of plugins available.

Make sure wherever you're hosting it has an outgoing email server available though, otherwise you're going to have to use an external mail provider such as mailchimp.

As a backup solution.

Thanks it was more of a case of not wanting to set up a mailchimp or other provider for sending out the mail to what will be no more then 100 users if that I'm guessing.

I ended up using this one https://wordpress.org/plugins/wysija-newsletters/ and will see how it goes
