Wordpress multisite

Looking for some advice here.

I have a wordpress website, however I would now like another website in a a sub domain or in a sub directory.
So for example www.mainsite.com www.other.mainsite.com or mainsite.com/other.
I would like to use the same theme but just have different menu's .

Is multisite the way to go or just create a sub directory and install another wordpress on there?

Personally I'd create a new site on the subdomain - it's very easy to do. Then use a 3rd party managing software like this: https://managewp.com/ to keep tabs on them all.
