At the moment i have a vbulletin forum with a portal front page. By posting in certain sections on the forum, it gets outputted onto the portal main page.

The functionality is good but it doesn't look like a website, it looks more like an extension to the forum.

So i've now installed wordpress and am loving the functionality and design but i want something different with the design.

I've been looking around at various sites and found this - http://www.burnoutpc.com/

Now that is one sweet design and doesn't look like a blog. Only problem, it looks like a custom wordpress design as i can't find it or anything similar anywhere, so can anyone help point me to something like that or explain how easy it would be to create that?

any knowledge of html/css? if no it will take you quite a while time to make something like that. if yes that design is very easy as is any design really. the hardest part will be the server side scripting but then wordpress is very easy to change without knowing any
 
I think if you had any HTML/CSS background, you wouldn't be asking.... (i could be wrong of course).

Only requirement to replicate that design is some HTML and CSS knowledge, and some time to spare...

If you have to ask, chances are it's gonna take you a while...

For the most part it's one or two background images, the rest is static colour, if you know your HTML/CSS you'd know that's a 5 minute job....

The hardest part will be recreating any custom Wordpress scripts running on that site...

If you're going to give it a shot, i'd suggest using the Default Wordpress theme as a template...
 
I like the work done on those themes, very impressive... can't say i like the default look (of any of them), but the coding is good, makes the default pale in comparison in terms of flexibility... and ease of use....
 
Anyone willing to help me in designing it in return for being able to put it on their portfolio etc... and al ink on the site?
