Work have offered to pay for a course...T&Cs?

Hi,

Work have offered to put me on a diploma (online, value: 2600 dollars) which is really nice and will help my personal development plus the business.

They offered it during a Zoom call however I am wondering, is it perhaps best to get something in writing and check the T&Cs?

I am actually considering my position and will be looking for a new role early next year for many reasons. They said they wanted to put me on a course back in Feb this year and I did chase it up twice.

The business is quite small so just want to cover myself really.

Would be worth doing, and double check they're not putting you onto a training contract of some sort, where they're getting you to guarantee X number of years of service after completion of the training.

Nothing has been mentioned so I would 'assume' its a gesture...but you never know hence why I got a bit worried.

I've asked and kept it 'basic' just to cover myself. I wasn't expecting to really get this course sorted any time soon and although it could be good, it hasn't changed my mind about leaving early next year.
