Work icebreaker activity

I like how you quoted my post that had nothing to do with social media... and then replied all about social media? Maybe you quoted me by mistake...
It's okay, he also called Facebook "Bookface" to show his disdain for the social media giants.

I don't think it's unreasonable to be a bit annoyed. I'm friends with my boss on Facebook because we are friends outside of work. I don't expect her to exploit that for work purposes unless she's been asked to discipline me for not complying with the social media policy I'd expect both of us to keep our personal and professional lives seperate. We both fulfil different roles in both areas

Never put anything on social media under your own profile you wouldn't want anyone else to see.

As soon as there is a new starter at work there is a cabal that try and find all their social media, people are weird, which is why I keep everything locked down.

The whole thread is about social media.

I don't typically read every page. There is a certain level of assumption on my part when I reply to a post, having not read every page.

Be reasonable. The thread had 5 pages. I'm a busty man!

Dood, keep your man boobs to yourself! :p

Social media is one big data gathering/selling platform. Don't use it.

You can quite easily find out where someone lives, works, etc by cross referencing what you can find out about them on social media with other databases.

I only used it briefly a few years ago upon the insistence of a lady friend, I lasted two weeks before I binned it.

Utter waste of space and time as far as I'm concerned.

It's not that simple though, because it's 2019 and not posting stuff on social media is no longer a choice :p

Lol

But... But... But

People must know exactly what I'm doing everyday, what's currently in my supermarket basket, what stupid thing my random pet has done and how many bowel movements I've had come Tuesday.

What about the wonky ass downwards cam daft face photos that everyone must see right now!

As for op... I'd say abuse of trust tbh

Tbf, my point was you perhaps didn't read my post. The post you quoted. As what you said didn't really have relevance to my post.

If anything, I thought people might moan at me for not being on topic, as the thread is about social media and my post wasn't... then you quoted me (one of the few posts not about social media) and talked about social media :) Not a problem, just confused me a little :)

At work on Friday me and my team (13) were in a meeting room. Near the end the manager said we are going to do this activity. The manager and the team leader had gone through everyones social media and made presentation out of the images but obscuring the face so you had to guess who it was. Afterwards the original image was presented to everyone.

I wasn’t best pleased with this and felt it was quite invasive.
Has anyone else had a similar situation?
Hmm.......inneresting

Yes. That's why I'm no longer a permie
