Work PC internal upgrade spec for £250?

I need to upgrade the internals of a work PC and have a budget of £250.

Would a Pentium do the job with 4GB of RAM?

We don't really do much other than word processing and the odd spreadsheet. Nothing too taxing.

I'd also like to buy 2 lots so I can use the same internals for a home server. Can a home server manage on a Pentium and 4GB of RAM? Its going in a 2u cabinet case.

When you say the upgrade the internals, do you mean everything?
Mobo, Cpu, ram, Psu, hdd, etc and is there nothing you can reuse?

In that case, no problem. It will also allow for more performance in the future should you need it.
