My wife works at a supermarket, and is contracted to work 3 days a week 18:30-22:30 they are opening on 31st Dec and 1st Jan but not the usual hours.
They have told her she has to work from 3-7 both days which is a real pain as I was hoping to have my folks over for a meal on New Years Day and her having to go to work at 6pm would have been fine for dinner and sorting the kids etc.
My question is does the employee have the right to make changes to hours like this a few weeks before Xmas to frankly fit in around the silly opening times of the shop?
