Work secondment question

I am currenty on secondment with another team at work. I am enjoying it and learning a lot more than i would at my usual job.

Another guy is due to start soon and im going back to my usual job. However i know he is currently applying for other jobs (not at the same company) I dont want to have to go through hand over (and another guy too) if he is going to leave soon

Should i infirm the project leader of where my position is now? This however would also look like i want his secondment time, as everyone knows i like it where i currently am

Or should i inform a team leader of my usual position so he can maybe update the project leader of where i am now

Or should i just keep quiet?

I think he had a word with a team leader today so i might just ask him whats going on and not say anything to the team I am currently in.

I wouldnt exactly call the guy a mate, but I get on with him in work, go for the occasional beer etc so wouldnt want to be a nob about it
