How many of you have said you'd go to yours and never arrived?

Is it morally wrong that I selected what I'd eat from the Restaurant, all paid for by the Company, and not arrive?

What's the worst that could happen? :o

If you've changed your mind then tell them now and just give some BS excuse.

I volunteer for AGE UK every week and I'm going to theirs like I do every year. I would tell them if I changed my mind.

I was fired from my last job for not turning up to a Christmas party. I lost my house and car when I couldn't keep up repayments. Then my wife left me. I'd never do it again :(

Hope you got life back on track fella!

Thanks. But that was just the start. I ended up on the street and fell in with the wrong crowd. I spiraled into drug addiction and took to prostitution and crime to pay for it. After my crime spree escalated from mild shoplifting to armed robbery I ended up in prison for 35 years. I'm now out but at 90 years old I don't have much life to life anymore.

...and all because I didn't want to man up and tell them I couldn't attend a Christmas party :(

Oh you sound like a right ruff en! But ever so tragic story! I hope you had enough Ice Cubes at the ready to sit your red raw harris on!

Surely it is enough that I scrubbed my name off the attendees list? Isn't that telling them enough?

Why are you so worried about it? Plenty of people in our office have said yes then changed their minds. No one cares. Unless you work at a small company? Even then I don't get why you'd be worried, it's not even a 'thing' surely?

It is just the fact it might be costing them a tenner for the meal (that I won't be eating) that is all. It is a large company.

Well if you're being serious (not sure) then pay them the tenner and don't turn up. You'll be out of pocket but no one can complain. If asked why you didn't turn up, just say you had a stomach bug.
