As some may know I recently won SFL so I'm thinking about quitting my full time job (which I hate) and getting myself a nice easy part time job just so I still have a routine and keep my feet in the world of employment. I'm only in my 30s so while retiring now sounds like heaven I think I'll soon get bored sitting on my tod at home all day.

Anyway, I've been offered a 16 hr job in one of those slot machine/fruit machine amusement arcades, somewhere I never thought I'd work in or want to work in one in a million years.

Anyone ever worked in one?

I really need to stop hitting apply on every random job I see on Indeed! :D

Went for a informal chat/interview this morning and the whole time I was there no one came in to play so not sure how busy it gets (I should have asked!) so not sure on how noisy it gets as this is the first time I've ever been in one.

Regarding charity work, the local food bank are always looking for van driver volunteers so might offer my service once or twice a week.

Bloody hell mate, just hit the motherload and you're already thinking about taking up a part-time job in a bookies. Where's your imagination?! Don't you fancy getting away for a bit, maybe doing some travelling? Taking up a new hobby/hobbies? Take some time out, have a think and destress and then get back into it when you've lived a little.

Did you ever sort that minging bathroom? Could start there :D

I did sort the bathroom out, exactly a year ago the same week I won STF :D I posted the results in the Home & Garden board.

That doesn't sound good. A fun and buzzing arcade like by the sea, I can kinda understand the appeal. A 18+ only arcade, it's going to be full of all sorts of unsavory people.

Agreed - bet you will get some bums in it unless it's a casino

I assume the type of people who frequent these establishments are gambling addicts chasing their loses.

Yeah I agree it's crazy thinking that I'll go working in an arcade just to keep busy. I would like to start a business but if I do I might wait a couple of years until I've got some money built up first. Always fancied owning a convenience store / Premier shop type shop and they are usually gold mines if you have good passing footfall. :D Wouldn't mind getting into a couple of BTL properties too as a future retirement plan.

I'll probably get my house refurbished too, planning a couple of new extensions, nothing too elaborate just the single storey front extension knocked down and replaced and an upstairs bathroom put in at the back. Also a new kitchen as mine is dilapidated (like my old bathroom was :o).

I've never been big on holidays hence why I'm not in a rush to get away. Last holiday I had was in 2018 and that was only to Ireland.
