The company i'm doing some contracting through is trying to line up a load of work in the Middle East atm, mainly in Dubia and Bahrain and they are keen for me to fly out soon to talk techi with the customers over there.

Now i'm totally up for a bit of an adventure but i'm wondering if anyone on here is or has recently worked over there and if they can offer any advice?

Cheers
Sam

my advice? duck.

seriously though, dubai and bahrain are pretty stable areas of the middle east, nothing to worry about.
besides, if you go in a few weeks you can catch the first f1 race of the year in bahrain :)

oh hell yer!!! i'll push for that :D its big oil companys that were talking to atm so chances are they would have a box or two at the track :D

yer i'll proberbly pick up a rough guide or the like for the lang / culture stuff. Not too sure how much i like the idea of working in a dry nation, but maybe a forced period off the booze would be good for me :)

Should i be looking to get more money if i'm working out there? the place i'm contracting through is UK based and i'm pretty happy with the cash i'm getting, but i don't know if that should increase if i go over there.....

MATTeL, do you have any recomendations on where to look for the tax stuff?

cheers
Sam
