Working nvidia drivers for vista when?

Well I believe that Corporate's get their hands on Vista on 30th Dec so I would hope there will be drivers for the 8800 by then :(

Considering Vista is only available to MSDN (The D does stand for developers) and those people on the Beta Test (who submitted the required number of genuine bugs to qualify) there is no point getting at NVidia at all.
Or basically any other company without full drivers.
Business doesn't officially get Vista until the end of December and the Home User (where most of the people who require a much faster NVidia driver) won't see the OS untilt he end of January.

I think people are really losing sight as to who exactly is supposed to have Vista right now - and it certainly isn't people who spend all their time or even a small amount of time gaming.

Agreed.

Its rubbish that Nvidia have not released drivers for the launch of Vista.

That's probably because Vista hasn't launched yet.

Granted it's been released to manufacturing but that's not the same thing as it being launched.

If they had drivers though they'd only be whinging at M$ then, as they would have a load of games and stuff not working. :p

I can't wait for the proper launch myself, see the big list of stuff that doesn't work. :p

I remember when XP first came out, what a pile, i waited until well after the first service pack before i even looked at it.

Its gona be Vista this/that, what a pile, bugger all works etc... etc... gona be great.:D

Its been available from the MS Enterprise license site for a few days as well as MSDN.

and the overall amount of Nvidia users that have access to that??

you need to take into account its not been genuinely launched to the public yet and wont be for a while. To Nvidia, they have time to work on the driver as the OS is not mainstream at this time.

You realise XP was very usable long before the first Service Pack? In fact I moved over to XP almost immediately and had no issues other than a shonky old printer.

Acording to that site the Leadtek 8800 comes with Vista drivers in the CD, anyone with a Leadtek to check that out?

The card supports HDCP and the driver CD also includes Vista drivers, we didn’t try it yet and Leadtek puts an extra touch and at least brands Nvidia driver as Leadtek Winfast ones. They work flawlessly and they told us that the temperature in 2D mode is around 55 Celsius for EVGA or 60 Celsius for Leadtek. The Leadtek card heated up to 75 Celsius in the open, out of the case environment.
