Hi

Didn't know where to put this thread but as its for when i'm working on my house I thought it would go here.

I'm looking for a good pair of work trousers with built in knee pads. I've tried to use the strap pads before but they just bunch behind my knee and hurt the joint.

I've also tried a cheap pair with the pockets to put the removable pads in but the pads were too rigid and dug into my shins when standing.

Anyone with any recommendations?

I have dewalt work trousers and pads and they dont dig into my leg when standing, but they do take a bit of getting used to, or maybe the pads just need to get worn in a bit.

Only issue I have found with this design is the material pocket tends to get worn out fairly quickly, which then renders the trousers useless as a hole develops and the pads just fall through after a while. They're not cheap either at around £30-£40.

Is this wear happening right on the knee pad area? Are they the cordura knee pocket style?

Just abrasion from the fabric being in contact with the floor, but then again I tend to have to kneel down outside a lot on rough ground, so maybe just doing hardwood floors etc will be more forgiving.

Been wearing dickies pants for years and wear them near enough every day. Have tried several brands they all have the same flaw with the knee pads, after use you just learn to adjust them when your kneeling, no big deal.

Thanks for the suggestions, ordered me some Dickies with knee pads. Should be here today, get to try them out.

Tried knee pads but they aren't comfortable. Best thing was a foam kneeling mat from the pound shop. Just have it around and lay it on the floor before kneeling.

If you want quality, get some snickers ones from screwfix. They'll last a long time and certainly be more comfortable and durable than most other brands. Scruffs aren't too bad either.
