I don't know about anyone else, but I'm starting to find it a bit of an effort to play PC games at home. I'm on a computer all day for work, pretty much the last thing I want to be doing in the evening is sitting on another computer, it just seems a bit tiring?

I bought an Xbox (don't shoot!) to try and alleviate this as I really do enjoy gaming, but since BF3 came out I think the only time it's been turned on is to watch a Band of Brothers box set. I tend to only bother in the winter as it's an enjoyable past time I can do from the comfort of my warm home, also not a bad way to save a few pennies, but even the **** weather isn't giving me any more motivation to sit down and play.

So how do you do it folks? I'm guessing on a computer forum there must be endless people in this situation. Only for an hour? Just at the weekends? 10 cans of Red Bull to get you in the mood? :D

I sit and work on a PC all day at work but my PC at home is different, I only really use it for gaming and the screen, keyboard, mouse and chair are all significantly different which makes my home PC a place I associate with relaxing and gaming.

Its all about having a difference between both areas.

It also helps that I NEVER do any work work on my home PC.

Work PC is all outlook, excel, ie and stuff I hate. Home PC is all games, steam and an open internet, I don't even have office on my home PC currently (google docs does in the really rare instance I need it), I just treat them as 2 different worlds so to speak.

I work in IT and sit in front of my work pc all day then go home and sit at my pc for a few hours. Works PC allows net acces (hence why im posting now) but we have now youtube, games etc. I spend all day in outlook, Excel, Exchange, Active Directory and our call management system. All things that i do not use @ home so they are very differernt:)

There are some days when i just cba to sit at my pc at home as my eyes are shot lol

Work 9-5, mostly on a PC, and this is how I do it..

Leave house 8am
Work until 5pm
Get home 6pm
Tea with the mrs and baby 6:10pm
Spend time with mrs and the baby until 7:30pm (when the baby goes to bed)
Watch TV with the mrs until 9pm (when she usually goes to bed)
Spend 2-3hrs on the PC gaming then bed.

I do wedding photography as a second income, so replace gaming with "work" and that's it most weekdays. Weekends can be more, but I try not to go mad and keep it to the evenings.

When you got a young one to look after, your gaming life goes right out of the window! but hopefully in next few months may be able to get some more in.

Work PC is basically office related and generally sneak on here on a break etc.
Go home, eat and watch some TV.
Play the odd game or 2
bed
Rinse and repeat!

Use the PC all day @ work. Go home and have dinner, put the young one to sleep. I Only use my home PC for gaming and usually till 12.00-1.00am. The next day I will have an early night without playing to recharge my batteries as I get up around 7.00am. Rinse and repeat.

Sometimes I do get in from a hard days work and not really feel like it, but once im locked into a game I wake up.

I used to console on my PS3 as it's more relaxing to sit on a beanbag with nothing more than a controller but I got a bit bored with that.

Pretty easy for me, work on laptop is something I have to do to pay the bills, playing games on PC is something I do for fun, the fact they both involve the same interface (keyboard, mouse, monitor) doesn't really come in to it for me.

Think of it this way, many PC gamers would quite happily spend an entire day playing games if they weren't working, and that has even less variety compared to a mix of gaming and office work where in most cases you will leave the house, be around different people, performing different tasks etc.

I need a powerful PC for work, so it's nice that it makes for a cracking games machine, I could never justify that sort of outlay just for fun!

I have no problem working on it then playing on it, and being my own boss means sneaking in the odd round of battlefield instead of working is a always a treat, and it keeps me sane during some of the silly hours I end up having to do.
