Working out net pay from gross pay

For example, if you were getting a job, or even changing to a lower paid job, is it possible to work out work out what you ACTUALLY get a month, from what the annual salary is? To check it actually pays the rent+bills(!)

I can't imagine it's too hard, NI and income tax must be some sort of percentage, right?

Thanks guys, I like this one, very detailed and easy to use. The results seem to differ between sites, but this one gave the lower figure - so I'll go with that to be safe

If the results differ slightly, it might be worth checking that you're using the same (right) tax year on each site.
