Workstation graphics card?

ok need a gfx card that is to be used on opengl apps.

my best option so far is for an agp 6800 based card that can be unlocked to become a ****** QUADRO FX 4000****** hehe sounds like a super powerful card from its name. hehehe.

question is, are there any other alternatives or is the 6800agp route my only option?

I believe ATi do some FireMV or something like that boards. Not quite sure where you'd source it from though.

then the 6800 is pretty much the only decent choice.

can be pci-e but i don;t think any pci-e cards can be modded to their workstation alter ego's.
