Workstation Laptop

Can anyone recommend a laptop that would be suitable as a workstation (for 3D modelling and the likes) - i know dell make some but they are seriously expensive for what you get...
 
Well we can only suggest OCUK stuff on here, plus the others they stock, as anything else would be pointing you at competitors...

I know what I'm kinda looking at for an audio workstation but it's VERY expensive!
 
You dont have to tell me where to buy and most brands are available at many places!

Budget - who knows, under 1K would be nice, not keen on HP having had reliability problems with the last one we owned.
 
Lenovo thinkpads, 1 - 1.5k will get you a T series which come with decent discrete (but switchable to integrated to save batteries) graphics cards and resolutions up to WUXGA (1920x1200) on the 17".

For a proper workstation model you'd want their W series but I think that's probably out of your price range if 1k is a fairly non-elastic budget.
