World at War 50% off @ Steam

Waste of cash imo. CoD4 is better in every way. And has more players.

Get Killing Floor instead.

I've been umming and ahhing about getting this. Can someone say what it's like in comparison to CoD and CoD2? Don't particularly care about CoD4 and it seems most of the negative reviews have been on that comparative basis. Is that the only reason it has a lot of negative reviews, or is it just a mediocre WW2 shooter anyway?

For £15 it's definately worth it, you get a good single player game that you can also play co-op, a solid multiplayer & the excellent zombie mode :)

bought it and hope the mp side is good...played the sp and found it to be a bit crap.

oh yeah the zombie part ive played and is probably worth the 15 quid alone...forgot abt that lol

I personally think CoD1 / 2 were better as single player games. CoD 4 was superb as a single player. Just seems that WaW was a little rushed - the single player felt really disjointed.

It's interesting though that on Steam the newer game is cheaper than the older one. It's been out for ages now and not shifted from £30 which is very disappointing.

£15 is a bargain for this. While its not upto IW standards its still a great game, especially with all the co-op you can do. You also get the freebie map pack which console users pay for, and the next map pack for free too i expect. Theres also quite a few user made zombie maps. DO IT.

It would have to come down to about £5 for this to be a bargain. Definately not worth more than a tenner.

The reason the older one is still a high price is because its good. Dropping the price of the newer game even tells you that its nothing more than a polished mod of COD4.

Killing floor isnt even comparable to COD5, and COD4 is still £25-30 everywhere.

Killing Floor is 10 times the game CoD5 is. Killing Floor actually takes skill and teamwork.

I don't care if CoD5 was £5, I still wouldn't buy it. Because I already have CoD4 which is better in every single way.

I guess it depends what you are after in a game. Personally CoD5 is not for me :)

Pretty sure COD4 had a half price weekend deal at one point. Some people seem to have a personal beef with this game.....

I think some of it is down to the fact that 5 isn't as polished as 4, even though 5 is a very good game in it's own right. And now it's £15, it's even better.

And some of it is down to anti WW2 nerd-rage, of course.

As to Killing Floor? cover me im reloading cover me im reloading cover me im reloading cover me im reloading cover me im reloading cover me im reloading cover me im reloading cover me im reloading cover me im reloading cover me im reloading cover me im reloading cover me im reloading

So you havent played through COD5?

I wish COD4 would come down in price. Everywhere I look it's £30 odd and has been for quite a few years now.

Same. I played through the single player on a mates PC and enjoyed every minute of it. I expected WaW to be pretty much the same in terms of quality and it just wasn't.

Hell Modern Warfare 2 is going to be out soon (it's preorder on some sites) and it seems that its going to still be the same price. Then they wonder why people pirate games so much.
