If you've played WAW then don't bother. You'll just be disappointed. Great in the day, but not so now.

It's a completely different game though , I still find it epic but that's probably because I played it soooooo much when it came out

Maybe I'll rent it some day just to get through the nade spamming, respawning to the max campaign
Rent for some easy achievements. If you can get it for less than a fiver it's probably worth buying. However, you'll be disappointed with the whole thing if you've already played through WAW.
I played it online about a year ago, just after WAW came out and the online was absolutely atrocious. The lag in almost every game was terrible and there weren't too many games going on. It could've been so barren because WAW had just been released though. The only thing I miss since COD3 is killing people with the flag.

Just out of interest , how does WAW compare to COD3/MW series ?

It plays very similarly to MW, almost identical but the guns do make you play a little bit differently than MW, not much though to be honest. A lot of the maps are huge and the Nazi Zombie mode is better than it sounds, but only with friends. If you like WW2 shooters then you should buy it because you'll definitely enjoy it. Especially if you enjoyed MW. In my opinion Treyarch made a mess of COD3 when compared to COD2. But they definitely improved on, and made a better game than MW, with WAW. I actually prefer WAW to MW2.
The single player is very good and if you decide to take up the Veteran challenge make sure there's nothing in the vicinity that can be broken. I was so tempted to just throw my controller across the room but it's not his fault that the game was so damn hard on Veteran! This thread is making me want to go and buy it on PS3 after the sale of my 360.

Do the weapons have recoil ? That's the best thing about COD3 , massive recoil
Its a lot better (MP side) IMO but I know that's not a popular view.

Yep. A lot more recoil than in MW2 which is just pathetic frankly. Such a let down of a game. Not a terrible game by any stretch of the imagination, but it just feels like COD4 rehashed, with a few extra bits and bobs tacked on.
The recoil in WAW is quite good from what I remember. The STG being my favourite gun because when you've played for long enough you can predict usually where the recoil will take the gun, and when you get good at it, boy, you become a killing machine pretty much!
I would agree with everything youve said in the thread so far.
Ive found the MW/MW2 series to be a bit dry when it comes to multiplayer and Ive always felt that it lacked character compared to Cod3/WaW multiplayer.
