World Creator Software

Alright folks, im looking for some software to create 'worlds' something similar to this.. LINK
Free would be much more preferable as its just for a bit of fun, not creating a game or anything, just some custom worlds/environments.

Ive tried a bit of searching but as im at work too many links are filtered so hinders me.

even if you're not creating a game, a toolkit designed for creating games/mods would probably be your best bet

Check out UDK (Unreal Development Kit) http://udk.com/ I believe it's free and lets you develop using the Unreal 3 engine. It's reasonably easy to start out and there is tonnes of documentation on their site

It also gives you the option of importing your own 3D models designed in things like 3DS Max, Maya and various free tools like Blender (I think)
