Urgh don't get me started. In the Honduras friendly before the WC the camera was focusing in on a Union Jack during the national anthem. I'm English but I can see why the Welsh/Scottish/Irish hate us when we do stupid things like that.

Equally I was at the Tour de France a couple of years ago and someone had the English flag with each quarter having a rider's name in it. Didn't have the guts to tell him that Cavendish/Isle of Man isn't England :p.

Because the Union Flag is a symbol of pride and the George Cross a symbol of mouth breathing stupidity? Oh and it's much prettier!

The Union Flag is the flag of Great Britain and therefore represents all our nations as does God Save the Queen so really they should have no issue what so ever the Union Flag is as much a symbol of England as it is the other home nations.
