I'm a Scot living in London, and in the build up to every previous World Cup, there has been way more hype in London, from numerous cars with St. George's flags (and other nations), and football tops coming out in abundance.

This year seems very subdued around here, and it's almost feels like there is no World Cup happening.

Is this just a London thing, or do football fans around here prefer to follow their club teams?

If we were in it, we would celebrate it even if we lost every game. I would have thought people would support their team no matter what, it's a shame if for most people that they are "glory hunting"!

However, in an opposite way, maybe it's best that there is a lack of over optimism, and will relieve a lot of pressure off the team.
