World in conflict beta install on vista 64 problem! HELP!

ok, when i go to install, i get a warning saying its not compatible with my version of windows lol asks me to find out what version im running then report the the devs.

got vista 64 ultimate, had it running about a week ago before reformat, running 163.11 beta drivers

anyone heard of this and how to resolve it? really annoying me now.

surprised you need to change anything. Thought World in Confilct was a "Games for Windows" title????
 
tried both of above, and still get the same error, now, ive downloaded the instakller from 2 different websites now, just incase the one i had was screwed, but i get the exact same.

according to them, i have to run up driver cleaner.... done all this last night, but ill try again

ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, any linkies? as im downloading the dirt demo atm (never been a fan, but seeing a lot of people happy with it, i thought ill try the demo) so its hard to browse cos ive maxed out my line

EDIT: nope, ive got the open beta exe... just double clicked it and exactly the same problems. file name is wic_openMPbeta.exe so i got both.... download so much stuff i forget what ive downloaded lol

Bad idea, beta's are the only good ones atm, the official ones are sooooo bad, they crash supcom, vice city, and CoH.
But those beta's, I don't know, I know for sure one of the beta's, either 162.18, 162.22's or 163.11, has problems with world in conflict.
Try the 163's perhaps, the 163's also give a small performance boost compared to 162.22's.

The 163.11s are optimized for world in conflict, so i would suggest keeping them. Drivers would never prevent you from installing a game anyway. In games they are fine but occasionally crash on desktop with stopped responding errors.

The game even tells you to use the drivers he has in the patch notes ;)
Not to mention the fact they are bar far the best ones.

As for the install you dont need to run it as admin, once you get the right version :p
 
ive got both versions lol

open and closed, its just saying my version of windows isnt what the installer wants.... 86 or 64 lol

which im on 64....... so its really confusing, as there is no specific 64 install of the game.

im not gonna reformat for it because it should be a easy fix, just need to work out how.

as for the moment, im also trying to work out why i get crashes on DIRT demo.

Hurry up and get it working cause its a good laf. running on Vista 32bit here and no probs. Installed ok too. you can get the open beta from fileplanet.
 
Yeah its not a different installer for x64, not sure why your getting that. Installled here without me having to do anything.
 
just deleted both installers, ill just ave to wait till the game comes out, i had fun whilst i played it though :D
