World In Conflict performace

Hi Folks,

I just downloaded an old favourite that is currently free with Uplay - World In Conflict.

However much to my disappointment the performance is pretty terrible, with FPS in range of 30-60. All in game settings are at max, however at low settings it is not improved by much.

I have a 1080ti and 6700k at 4.6Ghz. My GPU load is around 10%, and CPU load around 40% on one core.

Does anyone have any tips on how to improve performance on this otherwise great game.

i had same problem. seems UPlay related. go into documents and delete the game options file. i guarantee performance will improve drastically.

However, once you exit game and restart the performance will degrade once more.

i bought the game off GOG for £1 to see if it was Uplay related and the problem doesn't appear using the DRM free version.

Amazing, thanks for that tip. So I purchased from GOG, tried that version but the same performance. Deleted the Uplay version, tried GOG again, but the same.

Deleted the game options file then boom!

you'll need the multiplayer fix - http://www.massgate.org/downloads.php#mpfix download and extract that into the WIC folder.

you'll need a new CD key from here - http://www.massgate.org/cdkeys/ when you create a multiplayer account in game you'll need to use same email address as the one you gave to receive the code. the code is applied in the launcher that appears wen you launch the game.

you'll need to rename the assault.bat file in WIC folder to assault_original.dat what that does is disables the soviet assault content for single player. Dont know why this needs to be done but it is necessary to get multiplayer working. Just rename file to original assault.bat if you want to play soviet assault content in future.

you'll also need to download the additional maps - http://www.massgate.org/files/maps/released_wic_maps.zip just extract/copy these to C:\Users\xxxx\OneDrive\Documents\World in Conflict\Downloaded\maps
