Some WoW fans have been making RL paper models of WoW stuff, and they're amazingly good.

Check these out:

I have to say they look pretty accurate O.o

I wonder what happens when it rains though :p

On a serious note, they should show them to blizzard - which will go either 1 of 2 ways.

1. They get placed on the website for all to see.

2. They get sued and need to sell their houses to pay ;)

How do you go about making something like that?

edit: NVM saw the link at the top

Looks like they have extracted the games 3D data and imported it into Pepakura which breaks apart the models and allows you to add the tabs etc.

Still, nicely done.

I thought that too without trying to find out heh. The shape of the model's polygons just matched up perfectly to the polygon count of WoW's models (read: not that many).

I want a Netherdrake mobile :(

Blizzard generally encourage fans to be creative, they often have art competitions and there's a huge amount of fan art on their website. Some of the characters in the Warcraft games even came from fan fiction, so I think they'll probably just think this is cool :).
