Recently WOW has been giving some chop/lag whilst playing. Sometimes the game can pause for up to 30s. I replaced the Video Card as i was certain it was that (went from a 4870x 2 to a 6950) but its still doing.

Temps on everything are fine.

What i did notice it that when I alt tabbed out of the game whilst it was frozen, the CPU utilisation on core 1 was at 100%

any ideas?

Try going to your WoW folder and deleting the Cache folder, WTF Folder, and AddOns (Found in Interface folder), and give it a go then, and if its fine start replacing your addons.

Had this problem on my gf's pc and this solved it

back them up first, incase it wasnt that. Otherwise you will have to re do your ui :p

Actually, what I noticed is that (hopefully) was only happening in TBC, I have just gone 80 and am in Vaj and it has not happened yet....

I will keep you informed. thanks for the cache idea BTW

Make sure you have AA etc set to application preference in your graphic card settings then adjust all graphical options in game.

Sorted it for me. :)
